COVID19 Pandemic
Phased Procedures
Phase 1
- No one gather at church, i.e. everyone stay home.
- All available worship and gatherings will be Livestreamed.
Phase 2
Expectations
- Open the church for morning worship (11:00 am) for whoever feels safe to gather.
- All other church meetings and activities remain suspended for two more weeks.
- If one has been exposed to another person who has COVID-19, or that person also been exposed from someone else, we encourage you to continue watching livestream and not attend in person.
- Individuals in at-risk health groups (including the elderly and sick) are encouraged to continue watching the livestream and not attend in person.
- Parents are encouraged to use good judgment in bringing young children.
- The nursery will remain closed at this time.
- Sunday School and Wednesday Prayer Meeting will continue to meet via livestream only.
- Sunday Evening Worship will remain suspended until the first Sunday in September (September 6th), which will also be Promotion Sunday.
- Feel free to wear a mask.
Entering & Exiting
- Please arrive early to allow time for seating
- Enter with cognizance of others around you either Rosemary entrance (front) or Elmwood entrance (side).
- Exit via the Rosemary vestibule doors.
- If necessary, use the wheelchair ramp entrance/exit.
While in the Sanctuary
- Select an available seat for your immediate family while maintaining social distancing.
- You may be asked to move seats by an Elder to ensure proper social distancing.
- Elders are available to assist you in finding a seat.
- Tithes and offerings may be placed at the collection points placed at the entrance and exits.
Other Details
- Hymnals and Bibles have been removed from the Sanctuary.
- Bulletins with Scripture and Hymns will be provided.
- Hand sanitizer has been placed throughout the building (bathrooms, hall, & entrances).
- The sexton will clean and disinfect between services.
- Communion remains suspended for the time being.
Phase 3
- The church will open for all services and Bible studies.
- Hymnals and Bibles are placed back in pews and available for use.
- Please leave on the pew for after-worship disinfecting.
- Deacons will bring collection plates / Elders will bring communion plates to the pews, but will not pass them.
- Note: All communion items are prepared with utmost safety considered. Our elders are masked and wears latex gloves.
- Individuals in at-risk health groups (including the elderly and sick) are encouraged to continue watching the livestream and not attend in person.
- Anyone exposed, or been around someone else exposed to the COVID-19 are encouraged to continue watching the livestream and not attend in person.
- Parents are encouraged to use good judgment in bringing young children.
- The plan is for nursery to open on this day unless there is reason not to open.
- Men of the Covenant and Women In the Church groups are free to meet.
- The Pathfinder Bible study free to meet.
- Masks are encouraged, but not required.
- All other items listed above (Phase 2) remain in effect.
Phase 4
- Resume normal worship practices with the partaking of Holy Communion, collection of tithes by “passing the plates,” use of hymnals and pew Bibles, and a celebratory fellowship lunch.
- Continue to provide hand sanitizer throughout the church.
- Everyone continue to be cognizant of social-distancing practices (hugs, handshaking, etc.)
